Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and discovered her love of sprinting while during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. At her first attempt, she placed within the top two places in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200 meters in a mere 10 weeks. Felix was signed to a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003, and later enrolled in University of Southern California to study elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record the 200m race in 22.18 seconds. She became the youngest world athlete to win the 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 by beating her time-tested Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and was consistently in the top three of athletes in each of her events.
